Born and raised in Charlestown, Indiana, Matthew
Lohman has had a passion to help people since his teens. He graduated from the
Indiana University Southeast with a Bachelors of Science in Education and a
Masters of Science in Education. He has also earned his Educational
Administrative Certification.
It was while he was teaching in public school,
Matt became interested in doing more for children and their families which led
him to becoming a principal. Still, he knew there was a better way
people could be helped. After a series of personal events, a door of opportunity
opened for him to become the Youth Director for Davis Park Christian Church
since 2006.
His wife, Melissa, has been a Parenting Mentor
at Hope Outreach's Parenting Ministry for about a year. Matt and Melissa are
parents of two wonderful children. Together, they enjoy hand craftsmanship
challenges of rebuilding, remodeling and refurbishing. Matt loves working
with wood. Since he’s been in Enid he has been building and refurbishing
cabinets and furniture with his father-in-law at Don's Custom Carpentry.
One of Matt's gifts is his ability to listen to
people. This is a prime quality of a good leader and Hope Outreach is blessed
that God has sent this man of vision and passion. We know that this organization
and the community it represents will be blessed because of his leadership.
